Clothing is a very important part of your portrait. I recommend wearing many layers that will add both texture and interest. Texture can be seen in clothing such as thick sweaters, ruffles, ribbons, buttons, and embroidery.

I welcome bringing a couple changes of clothes and if your child is up to it we can change them as much as you want to achieve the look you desire. My favorite items for kids are accessories such as hats, scarves, ties, belts, funky tights, shoes, etc. which add an element of interest to your portrait. Also if your child is into any activities such as skateboarding, wakeboarding, guitar, etc. please bring those to incorporate as well, which will allow their own personalities to shine through.

Choosing clothing for a family session can be challenging and stressful, pick a few colors and stick with them for the whole family. Dark jeans are always a great choice because they can be paired with ANYTHING! Sometimes matching too much looks cheesy, so try to find items that bring out each family members own personalities and that will add a unique look to the portrait that stays within your color scheme.

CHAPSTICK, CHAPSTICK, CHAPSTICK! Trust me; you don't want to have chapped lips!
